This is where I currently live and apparently is one of the square deal towns. This was part of FDRs plan to bolster the working class economy across America. Johnson city was home to the prosperous shoe manufacturer, the Endicott-Johnson Shoe Company. Endicott is also well known as the home of IBM. There is alot of history behind the inscription on that stone arch.
